Speakers
These are the vetted independent speakers who present their ideas and knowledge to colleagues in the various disciplines. Speakers most commonly have a degree in their discipline and often, an advanced degree. Speakers are retained by governmental and non-governmental organizations to present to various sized groups. Speakers are willing to present in various venues and are usually compensated with a negotiated fee and travel expenses based upon their reputation, experience and topics.
In some cases, a commercial concern or governmental entity will pay the tab for the speaking engagement. Speakers are the ‘Rock Stars’ of their discipline. Unlike the entertainment industry, which anoints its’ stars by virtue of record sales, commercial success of performances and other commercially tangible outcomes, speakers receive this status by a different process .
Organizations comprising User Group II identify and secure speakers for presentations or speeches to their members. Speakers covet these prestigious engagements as a prime opportunity to spread their ideas beyond the trade journals in their particular discipline.
